Two year old birthday Cake Smash Photoshoot, Berkshire – Little Miss I

Back in February I had the great pleasure of meeting Little Miss I and her lovely family for her 2nd birthday photo shoot and cake smash. This was the first time I had done a cake smash for a two year old (I mostly do them to celebrate first birthdays) and I thought it would be great fun to theme it as a little tea party.

She was an absolute blast although did not really want to get too messy so her two big teenage sisters and mum ended up getting their feet dirty to encourage her, and she still resisted! 🙂

If you fancy celebrating your son or daughter’s birthday with a Cake Smash get in touch. I am happy to style the shoot myself or take on board any ideas you may have, be it princesses, superheros, pirates, fairies…… you name it! 🙂

Mother’s Day Charity Mini Shoots at Burghfield Children’s Centre

I am delighted to announce a very special charity event on 26th March 2013 at Burghfield & Area Children’s Centre.

A close friend of mine sadly lost her lovely mum to cancer last year and has set up an amazing charity, Bucket List Wishes, to help people achieve things on their bucket lists when they are terminally ill. In order to reach UK charity status and also be able to get insurance for certain things she needs to raise a minimum amount of £4,500 and she is just over half the way there to achieving it after setting it up last October.

I thought it would be a great idea to do a fundraiser day to contribute to her charity and what better way to remember her mum than by doing some Mother’s Day portraits for local mums?

Burghfield & Area Children’s Centre have been kind enough to let us use one of their rooms on March 26th 2014 and we will be holding Mummy and Me mini sessions every 15 minutes from 10am till 12pm and from 1pm to 3pm.

The sessions can include mum and babies/toddlers, you must be registered with the Children’s Centre to be able to attend. There are only limited sessions so please book quickly as they will be gone soon!

Sessions will be £25 and will include one digital high resolution image with copyright to print. Images will be displayed in a password protected album after the event to choose from. Additional images will be £5 each, all profits will go to Bucket List Wishes.

In order to sign up please pop into Burghfield & Area Children’s Centre and put your name and details down on one of the slots available. Or you can email me at and  I will let you know what slots are available. Payments can be made via internet bank transfer, cash or cheque (please pop into the Children’s Centre to pay by cash or cheque).

Any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at or call me on 01189 836531 or 0774 0929136.

If you would like to make a separate donation to Bucket List Wishes please take a look at their website and Facebook Page. She would also love you all to ‘like’ their Facebook Page to spread the word about their charity 🙂

Look forward to meeting you and your lovely children on the day! 🙂

If anyone cannot make these mini sessions but would like to book a studio Mother’s Day session instead on a different date, or purchase a voucher for a Mother’s Day session, please contact me and I will be happy to discount a Studio session by 10% (normal session prices will apply), and donate a further 10% to Bucket List Wishes.

Studio Family & Pet Photo Shoot – Reading, Berkshire

I mostly shoot families with younger kids but had forgotten just how easy it was to photograph older families (not a verse of the Grand Old Duke of York to be sung!), and Freddie their lovely dog was just the most serene dog I have ever had in the studio. Lots of fun with the King family last month in the studio 🙂

Family shoots make great Mother’s Day presents so if you want to surprise your lovely mums and maybe even nans with a photo shoot voucher, email me at

Hello & welcome to my new Magic Photography website and blog!

Hello everyone!

So excited to finally be able to launch the new website and blog, has taken me rather a lot longer than I expected!

I really hope to be able to keep up with this blog better than I did with my old blog, just not enough hours in the day sometimes 🙂

First of all, some of you may have noticed that there is no mention of weddings on the website. After careful consideration I have decided to stop doing wedding photography and instead concentrate on the portrait side of the business. It is a very competitive world out there and being a part-time working mum I just cannot dedicate enough time to grow both sides of the business. I started doing weddings in 2007 and can truly say it has been a privilege to have been a part of lots of lovely wedding days and I am proud to have always had great reviews from my brides and grooms. It has been a blast! 🙂

I hope you enjoy the blog going forward and hope to share lots of newborn squishiness, lovely bumps and happy families going forward!

My old blog will still remain for archive footage, the link is as follows in case you want to bookmark it:

Some exciting announcements will be coming up on the blog soon so watch this space! 🙂

Lynette Whittle - You took beautiful photographs of my wedding day, love them and I wish you lots of success with your portrait work, I just love your style very different to the norm, beautiful backdrops, lovely connections,

Your fab

Lynette xx
